Winnipeg to Minneapolis, MNOur musical adventure begins as we head south this morning. Stopping at Emerson Duty Free followed by lunch and coffee break en route. Soon the Minneapolis skyline appears, and our first overnight.
Minneapolis to Champaign, ILWe continue on today and travel through the dairy state of Wisconsin and enter Illinois for our next overnight.
Champaign to Pigeon Forge, TNHeading towards Tennessee, we bisect the states of Indiana and Kentucky, land of the famous Blue Grass and Horse Farms. Soon we see the haze of the Great Smoky Mountains and Pigeon Forge where we will spend the next three nights.
Pigeon ForgeA day to enjoy the unsurpassed scenic beauty of “The Place of the Blue Smoke”, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, America’s most visited park. Led by a local guide you’ll have a memorable visit viewing pristine forests and natural wonders. Afterwards we visit the Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery, enjoy a true moonshine experience, as you approach the entrance you’ll actually smell the grains cooking and fermenting. You’ll see working moonshine stills and learn the process from beginning to end. Free time for lunch and shopping in Gatlinburg, a pretty little Smoky Mountain resort town. This evening we enjoy reserved seats to Dolly Parton Stampede an extraordinary dinner show with thirty-two magnificent horses and a cast of top-notch riders. They will thrill you with daring feats of trick riding and competition, pitting North against South in a friendly and fun rivalry.
Pigeon ForgeToday we start the day with a dynamic variety live music show. Afterwards enjoy the beautiful colors of fall at Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Theme Park. Watch visiting crafters at work throughout the park as the country’s most talented artisans showcase their artistry with up-close demonstrations. Handmade treasures for the home, unique collectibles and stunning artwork create an impressive craft exhibit. Special dishes all prepared with a taste of fall, showcase some of the harvest season’s most celebrated recipes, including a booth devoted to Dollywood’s signature fried green tomatoes. Take a ride on the authentic 110-ton coal-fired steam engine, which takes you on a breathtaking five mile journey through the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Pigeon Forge to Nashville, TNWe arrive in Nashville our home for the next two nights at the fabulous Gaylord Opryland Resort an entire city housed under a magnificent glass atrium!
NashvilleGet acquainted with America’s capital of Country Music. A local guide officially welcomes you to Nashville by sharing history, stories of the people and music on a fascinating panoramic city tour. Next we visit RCA Studio B, Nashville’s oldest surviving recording studio. Next we enjoy a visit to examine music’s past and present at the Country Music Hall of Fame, the largest museum of popular music in the world. As you explore this shrine to country music you will gain insight into the lives and music of many music icons through the museum’s vast collections of memorabilia, costumes, recordings, photographs and instruments. This evening we have premium reserved seats for an unforgettable show at the world famous Grand Ole Opry.
Nashville to Memphis, TNThis morning’s drive takes us to Memphis, the birthplace of Rock and Roll, Blues and Soul. We stop for lunch with time to stroll historic Beal Street where the Blues were born before we pay homage to the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” with a pilgrimage to Graceland. Step inside Elvis former home for a personal look into the man behind the legend. Stroll the grounds and you might find yourself humming “Blue Suede Shoes”.
Memphis to Branson, MOLeaving Tennessee behind we enter Arkansas and the scenic Ozark Mountains. The views stretch for miles with lovely forests, rushing streams and quaint towns. We drive through Little Rock, the home of former U.S. President Bill Clinton. Arriving in Music City, Branson Missouri, we experience our first musical performance this evening.
BransonThis morning we show you the “other” Branson, the town off the strip! First to downtown Old Branson and then to Branson Landing, the new showcase of the Ozark town. Stroll along Lovely Lake Taneycomo, visit the unique shops or dine at the many restaurants. Back on the strip we visit the Curling Vine Winery where you will be shown the winemaking process, followed by a short wine-tasting session. We wind up our day with an evening show.
BransonTwo live music shows are planned today with singing, dancing and comedy as well as a visit to the College of the Ozarks, one of the most unusual little liberal colleges in the country to complete our stay in Branson.
Branson to St. Joseph, MDLeaving the Ozarks behind us we head northward into Missouri to Springfield where we visit the Bass Pro Shop the “Grandaddy” of all outdoor stores. Time will be given for lunch and to explore their seven intricate aquariums, in-store-swamp with live alligators and turtles.
St. Joseph to Larchwood, SDThis morning we will spend some time at the Patee House Museum & Jesse James Home, Built as a luxury hotel in 1858 by John Patee and then later the first floor was used as the headquarters for the original Pony Express. Tonight we spend the night at Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort.
Larchwood to Winnipeg, MBThis morning we stop at the Terry Redlin Art Center before making our way home from our musical adventure with fond memories and new friends.
