9 Day Tour from Halifax to Halifax
Discover the heart of Canada’s Atlantic seacoast on this wonderful vacation. This tour begins and ends in Halifax with overnights also in Moncton, Charlottetown, and Baddeck. Along the way, you’ll experience scenic drives, visit beautiful national parks and quaint fishing villages, and enjoy special adventures arranged by Globus.
Tour highlights include a visit to Peggy’s Cove, a charming fishing village with the picturesque lighthouse (one of the world’s most photographed places), and Lunenburg, a small port town and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn about the highest and wildest tides at Hopewell Rocks, where time and tides (up to 50 feet) have created distinctive sandstone formations topped with trees. On Cape Breton Island, keep your camera ready as you embark on the Cabot Trail, one of the most scenic drives in the world, and visit Cape Breton Highlands National Park, resembling the Scottish coastal regions. More scenic beauty awaits you in Prince Edward Island National Park, famous for its wind-sculpted dunes and sandy beaches. Also enjoy a ferry ride across the Northumberland Strait.

Halifax — Excursion to Peggy's Cove & LunenburgThis morning, visit Peggy’s Cove, one of Canada’s most charming fishing villages. Enjoy a traditional NOVA SCOTIAN BREAKFAST, where you can choose local specialties, like fish cakes. Have your camera ready for spectacular shots of this famous lighthouse and picturesque setting. We then venture to Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During your free time here, explore the quaint Main Street, shop for souvenirs, or spend time at the Fisheries Museum to learn more about this major fishing port. The rest of the day is at leisure. Maybe visit the Maritimes Museum, which explains the area’s seafaring past, or perhaps tour Alexander Keith’s Brewery, which has been making the home-grown favorite since the early 1880s.Breakfast
Halifax — Sugar Moon Farm — MonctonThis morning, enjoy an orientation of Halifax, including the public gardens and harbor area. Before arriving in New Brunswick, we’ll stop at SUGAR MOON FARM to enjoy a Maritime SUGAR CAMP LUNCH, along with a guided tour and traditional sugar camp treat. We spend the evening in Moncton, originally founded by a group of Acadians and then Pennsylvania Dutch immigrants from Philadelphia. Your Tour Director will have suggestions for the best way to spend your evening.Breakfast and Lunch
Moncton — Hopewell Rocks — CharlottetownThis morning, travel to HOPEWELL ROCKS and learn about the highest and wildest tides in the world, which rise and fall up to 52 feet. Time and tide have carved from the cliffs and coves distinctive sandstone formations topped with trees. Learn more about the region’s nature and wildlife with a visit to CAPE JOURIMAIN NATURE CENTRE. Then, drive across 8-mile-long Confederation Bridge, the longest of its kind, and cross onto Prince Edward Island. Tonight, enjoy a LOBSTER SUPPER at a local restaurant.Breakfast and Dinner
Charlottetown — Pictou — BaddeckThis morning, board a FERRY that whisks you across the Northumberland Strait to Pictou, known as the “Birthplace of New Scotland.” It was here that the first boatload of Scottish Highlanders landed in Nova Scotia in 1773. Then, visit the ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL MUSEUM, where exhibits trace the achievements of the great inventor who spent his last years on Cape Breton. Spend two nights in Baddeck.Breakfast
CharlottetownA guided tour of the island includes a drive to the fishing port of North Rustico Harbour to see the sand dunes and lovely beaches of Prince Edward Island NATIONAL PARK, along with a visit to GREEN GABLES farmhouse. Later, enjoy lunch at PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND PRESERVE COMPANY, and be treated to a traditional CEILIDH—a folk music party. You are sure to be entertained and to get your toes tapping! Proceed along the coast, savoring magnificent vistas of the rocky shoreline and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Baddeck — HalifaxCross over the Canso Causeway and continue across Nova Scotia to Halifax. Upon arrival, visit the CITADEL with its early 19th-century, star-shaped fort.
